The VoiceMaster Shares Entrepreneurial Journey in the 1st Laguna Trade and Business Expo
The Association of Laguna Food Processors (ALAFOP) together with the Department of Trade and Industry - Laguna Provincial Office (DTI - Laguna) hosted the 1st Laguna Trade and Business Expo 2018 at the Glorietta 3 Activity Center on April 19-22, 2018. This 3-day expo showcased Laguna’s emerging homegrown entrepreneurs and their products. The expo also featured a fashion night, book launch and some inspirational talk.
On day 2, a half-day seminar called LAG1 Summit was held. There were three speakers who shared their entrepreneurial experiences to the audience. Filipino motivational speaker Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales was invited to share how he built not only his voice acting business, but also how he built his brand as the VoiceMaster. In his short but powerful talk, Pocholo shared how he developed his voice acting talent listening to radio drama as a young boy from the province. He also told of the story of how he became a champion in a voice acting competition, which propelled his voice acting career at the age of 16. He even gave the audience a glimpse of his talent by doing various voice impressions of commercials, cartoon characters and famous personalities.
While the audience were amazed and entertained with his talent, Pocholo also presented the challenges he had to overcome in order to succeed in his industry. He shared how his passion and dedication to the craft enabled him to succeed in a business that used to be closed-door, monopolized and controlled by a few. These same drivers propelled him to create the first and still the most well-known voice acting school in the country, which has produced over 1,000 graduates since 2005.
Pocholo imparted his entrepreneurial journey and also shared to the audience how they, too, can discover their passion that could be their profession or business. He encouraged the audience to look at creating a business as a way of helping people solve a problem, instead of a way to simply make money. He even shared his own definition of the word PERA (money), which is his acronym for Purpose, Enthusiasm, Resourcefulness and Availability.
The 1st Laguna Trade and Business Expo was organized in partnership with DTI Laguna, NORDE Philippines, Office of Senator Bam Aquino, Office of Congresswoman Arlene Arcillas, Office of Laguna Vice Governor Karen Agapay, City of Cabuyao, City of Santa Rosa, Prulife, Air21 and Ayala Malls.
