JCI Makati Kicks Off 2019 with First Kindergarten Teachers Empowerment Summit
Junior Chamber International (JCI) Makati kicked off 2019 with its first project early in the year – the 1st Kindergarten Teachers Empowerment Summit. It was held on January 3-5 at the Audio-Visual Room of San Agustin Elementary School in Paranaque City. About 200 Kindergarten teachers from the Division of Paranaque registered for this free but impactful seminar.
Each day of the summit featured Filipino motivational speakers who are members and affiliates of JCI Makati and the Philippine Association of Professional Speakers (PAPS). The speakers presented on various topics that benefit the teachers not just in their profession but in their overall well-being as well. They were also inspired and entertained with the messages of the speakers that were a combination of wit, humor and value.
The first day of the summit featured topics such as Stepback Leadership by PAPS Founder and President Lloyd Luna, Classroom Management by Elmar Nabisa and Voice Acting for Effective Teaching by 2018 JCI Makati President Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales. Day two also had interesting topics such as Voice Care for Teachers by Ada Cuaresma, Heart of a Kindergarten Teacher by Georgina Maduro and “Teacheristics” by Dannes Serrano. The last day of the summit was focused on entrepreneurship, as Jerry Yao spoke about Marketing and Elmar Nabisa on Financial Literacy. JCI Makati incoming President Kurt Soliman also graced the presence with a motivational talk.
Indeed, the summit empowered the Kindergarten teachers as they fulfill their role in nation-building by shaping the hearts and minds of Filipino childen.
The 1st Kindergarten Teachers Empowerment Summit was also made possible with the help of Teacher Fe Lustanas, founder of the advocacy Education Under the Bridge, who was one of JCI Makati’s primary beneficiary in 2018.
